Please note that although I usually respond to comments and questions when a response is requested -- eventually -- this guestbook really isn't a good format for Q&A conversations. I'd put up a forum, but that would be re-inventing the wheel because there's already an awesome turtle forum that can be found here. I suggest that questions be posted there. This guestbook is more suited for hellos and the like.
For turtle emergency care-related questions, please visit the above site's Emergency Care Forum. There are very knowledgable people there, including a few professional herpetologists.
Please note that I've started posting under the handle "Webmaster" for security reasons and to avoid confusion. I hear there are other people named "Richard" out there. My posts will always be under the handle "Webmaster" from now on. (I'm leaving the older ones as they are, however.)

Do you feel the pain of acid reflux? Do you feel a fire inside your chest? Are you miserable? Are you ready for the issues to stop? Continue reading to find out how. Keep reading to learn to control acid reflux for good and to end the misery for good.
You may need to balance out hydrochloric acid amounts in your body if you want to reduce acid reflux and its symptoms. You can do this, for instance, by using sea salt rather than table salt. Sea salt has chloride and minerals that are good fo

Happy I could help. I have the turtle topper for a basking area. I am still up in the air on my opinion of it. Shelly only lays on the ramp that is mostly in the water. I have not seen her go all the way up and actually bask yet. I put a couple of died shrimp on the landing just past the top of the ramp and hoping they will be gone in the morning.
Thanks for that. I appreciate your feedback. I upgraded my recommendation a bit on the filtration page today partly based on your opinion and that of others I've talked to. I like recommending good equipment, and visitor feedback helps me do that.
@webmaster thanks for your reply. So far I am liking the cascade. I just moved "Shelly" to the larger tank, so I figure I will know better in a couple weeks. It is easy to set up and use.
Thanks for your kind feedback. I'm glad the site was useful to you.
Please report back on how you like the Cascade filter. I like to know whether visitors have good experiences with the products I suggest.
I'd love to help you, but I'm not a vet. Your turtle needs to be seen by a vet immediately. Turtles don't menstruate.
I need help with my red eared slider. She had blood coming from her vent, and I am worried. I need help please
I wanted to say your site is amazing! My daughter just got a RES from a chain petstore. My husband took her to get it and let the store tall him into the reptile kit with a 20 gallon tank.
I started researching RES and discovered they needed much more than the kit offered. So today I bought a 60 gallon aquarium on a stand and items you recommended. I did go with your friends recommendation of the Cascade Canister. I got the 1500 model. Can't wait until it arrives. Thanks again
I've never used ADA Aqua Soil. I fell in love with Flourite years ago, and old loves die hard. But I might try it for musks. It would be a lot nicer to look at than sand, that's for sure. I'd ask over on the Turtle Forum at ATP first, though. I've never used the product, so I'd want some input from those who have.

The two original turtles outgrew the tank, stopped getting along, and had to be separated and moved to new habitats. That's why before I bought the two present turtles, there was only one in the tank on the feed. They'd started fighting and had to be separated.
What did you do with your bigger turtles?
Hi Richard, lot of helpful stuff on this site,
currently have 2 Musk turtles of 9 months. they eat strong and are currently in a planted tank with a rounded gravel substrate.
they leave the plants alone, so i want to add aqua soil. the grains would be just as big as the current sand grains. You think something
like ADA aqua soil can work with mu
Thanks for your kind words.
The original turtles outgrew the habitat and stopped getting along, so I had to separate and move them. I purchased new yearlings to keep the video feed going because it was easier than moving all the video equipment, the special lights, the server, and the wiring needed to make it all work.
I love your turtle-dedicated website. I've been visiting this page quite a lot because I love watching turtles live. There are numerous animal live feed vids out there but never seen a turtle one. I do miss the old turtles. Do you still have them? Also, the information you put there are very helpful! It's a must visit website for all turtle keepers
If you have an above-tank basking area, then filling the tank to the top with water is fine. If not, then you need to leave enough space at the top for a basking area and to prevent the turtle from climbing out.
Hi, I need your help. I was gifted a baby turtle a couple of months ago. I have a fish tank of aprox 20 gallons. She has been living there. I bought her the lights (UV and heating), dock and supplements. The only thing that worries me is that the tank is filled almost completely. Is this bad for her? Please let me know. Thanks!
